Wrath of the Lich King beta has arrived!
Thursday night: a night of either great excitement, or disappointment. This hinged on if you were lucky enough to find an email from Blizzard lighting up your inbox. For most of us, disappointment, though a number of you lucky dogs out there received this most treasured surprise: an invite to the WotLK beta. We have a quick rundown from the past few nights of what we now know, thanks to squelched alpha voices, and the new beta testers.
The beta patch notes provided a nice clue as to what the future of WoW will be. Even though we can only observe and wipe the drool off our fat chins from a distance, it’s safe to say that Blizzard has answered some of our cries.
All of the new talent trees have now been released, and they promise to improve gameplay for not just a few classes, but every class. Each tree has dug ten points deeper, and they further showcase the design aspect of their respective classes and trees.
Videos and information continue to pour in on the Death Knights’ impressive gameplay. Exciting moves and fantastic animations that make the look and feel of the Death Knight not only a visage of horror on the battlefield, but an exciting class to adopt for yourself. From Death Grip to Corpse Explosion, the Death Knight promises to draw fresh blood out of WoW’s scarred flesh.
As with all of the beta tests that Blizzard teases us with, the invites will be dished out in waves. If you were unfortunate enough to be passed over this round, there is still hope. Most of us in the WoW universe will be raiding our inboxes Leeroy Jenkins-style: immediately, haphazardly, and hopelessly confident in our chances.
