Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 Limited Edition

As if Las Vegas didn’t have enough problems, now there’s terrorism… Following up the original Vegas hit, Ubisoft is releasing yet another in the R6 series on March 21st. The game itself looks like a good successor to the franchise. But what caught my attention was that they’re pushing a $10 more Limited Edition on their site. Claiming that it’ll give you “the edge” in your game play, it’s loaded with tips from pro gamers and Ubisoft’s in-house gamer girls, the Frag Dolls.
Which is all well and good, and I’m sure fan boys will eat this stuff up. But it all just seems so…unnecessary. A poker chip key chain? A little tacky. Tips from pros and the Frag Dolls (Ubisoft’s sponsored gamer girls)? Looks pretty basic—the “Claw Grip” is common knowledge, and if you haven’t figured out that short bursts increase accuracy, you probably shouldn’t be playing a tactical FPS. Granted these are sample tips, and hopefully there are much better strategies available, but it’s nothing I’m sure I can’t find online. A documentary following a pro gamer? Meh. The most compelling exclusive content this Limited Edition has to offer is the first look at the upcoming strategy game Tom Clancy’s EndWar. But unless it’s a demo, even this ain’t worth dropping the dough.
I guess you’re asking, “What’s the fuss? If people want this stuff, let them buy it.” Fair enough. It just seems frivolous. Especially when $10 can get me an old school game off Steam that I’d actually enjoy playing, Ubisoft has got to offer me more bang for my buck than this.

The first Vegas was one of my favorite games so i’m looking forward to Vegas 2 but id probably stick with the normal version. If i wanted to see the extra stuff then im sure it will be online 10 mins after the games out.
