Top Five Gaming Gals that Make You Want to Shut Off the Game

Strong, sexy, and never ones to back down no matter the odds, these are the types of female game heroines you can respect. Characters like Samus Aran, Alyx Vance, Chun-Li, and Ada Wong are just some examples of gaming femme fatales who kick serious ass. However, be it their voice, actions, or just by being a total bitch for no reason, some video game gals are just down right infuriating. With that said, here are the top five video game girls who make you want to turn off the game.

Metal Gear Solid 2’s Rosemary:

How in the world could the beauty of Metal Gear Solid 2 appear on the list? For one reason and one reason alone, the save feature. While Raiden’s girlfriend is useful in the fact that she does save your progress via the Codec, it’s that every conversation ends up going the same direction. All she ever wants to talk about is her relationship with Raiden, while it is somewhat important, she brings it up so often that it’s borderline obsessive! There is, however, one other female character that is even more obsessive and possessive…

Sonic Adventure’s Amy Rose:

The infamous Amy Rose is just that female! Though her inclusion in Sonic CD wasn’t bad, it’s her appearance in the Sonic Adventure series and afterward that show Amy’s true colors. Constantly interrupting Sonic in the middle of his quest to stop Dr. Eggman, she is seen begging the blue hedgehog for a date. The events of the date lead up to her being chased by a robot and taken hostage, thus successfully making Sonic’s task that much harder. In games thereafter she is always trying to impress Sonic, and how does she accomplish this? By constantly stalking him! I think it’s time for Sonic to express his true feelings to Amy, “Get away from me, you psycho!”

Final Fantasy X-2’s Gullwings:

A difficult choice was made here; Final Fantasy has brought us some of the most memorable characters in video game history. On the other hand, it has also brought us some of the most annoying as well. Having to pick just one of them was a difficult task, but in the end, the girls of the Gullwings in Final Fantasy X-2’s claim the prize. Taking a well received game and then doing a complete 180° spin in the sequel made gamers cry out “W-T-F”. What really put Yuna, Rikku, and Paine on the list is simply the intro video for X-2, seriously, what the hell? The Final Fantasy series was never quite the same after that. Oh, and don’t even get me started on their design in Kingdom Hearts 2.

The Legend of Zelda’s Navi:

Most gamers will agree that Navi deserves to be on this list more than anyone else. “Hey!”, “Listen!”, and the rest of her dialogue still haunt many of us to this very day. Although she has an encyclopedic knowledge of every enemy in the game, as well as tiny hints on how to solve the game’s puzzles, her incessant jibber-jabber just gets on everyone’s nerves. While it wouldn’t have been that bad to hear in small bursts, it’s the fact that she never stops nagging throughout the entirety of the game that earns her a spot on the list.

Resident Evil 4’s Ashley Graham:

If you’ve played video games at any point, ever, you’ve saved your fair share of damsels in distress. However, none are more annoying then the president’s daughter from Resident Evil 4. Ashley Graham, being one of the most incompetent AI partners in history, doesn’t earn her spot by just being easily captured. Like Navi, it’s her voice that pushes her from merely a bother to driving the player borderline insane. Many who played the game have gotten to the point where they just put her in a dumpster for a while just to have some peace and quiet.

These are five women you don’t want to encounter, especially if you’re looking for an escape from the annoyance of your life while you game. Think you have some better choices? Leave us a comment and let your opinion be known.
