The single Best/Worst E3 Announcements

trauma center gotgame booth babesEvery E3 event has its amazing announcements for new IPs: many that have already leaked, plenty that nobody care about, and announcements that never happened.

Seeing as this year’s E3 is no different, let us weigh our opinions on the best announcement, worst announcement, and must disappointing unannouncement at E3 this year. Final Fantasy what? 14?

————————————————————-
Best Announcement: This was a pretty tough decision to make after all the announcements made. But seeing as I’m not a huge fan of motion controls, the PSP Go! didn’t impress me too much, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 seems kind of like a sleight towards fans seeking something new for Mario. Keeping that in mind, I am going to have to go with Team Triko’s The Last Guardian. Sure this leaked already, but hey: It’s official now.
The Last Guardian Ico Shadow of the Colossus Triko gotgame
Seeing that Shadow of the Colossus and Ico are two gorgeously amazing games, my excitement for this title is similar to the Nintendo 64 kid on Christmas. OH MY GOD! THE LAST GUARDIAN!!! Maybe with a bit less screaming, but still including the remote control car 49 seconds into the video.

Worst Announcement: Nintendo’s Wii Vitality Sensor. Honestly, what is the point of knowing one’s pulse while playing a game? Definitely seems like another money grab from Nintendo for all those Wii Fit purchasers. I wonder how many fun bucks this will cost for consumers and if there will be an valuable aspects for in game implementations.
Gordon Freenman Valve Half-Life gotgame
I am on the edge of my seat for Nintendo’s next announcement that it does indeed monitor blood alcohol count as well. The trick is to see how smashed you can get it in and hour, and then trying to beat that record.

Must Disappointing Unannouncement: The winner of this seemingly absurd title belongs to Valve. Where’s the Half-Life guys? We’ve been waiting, waiting, and kept waiting on more information on either a Half-Life: Episode 3 or even just Half life 3? C’mon! Gordon Freeman is absolutely itching to whip out his crowbar for another adventure. And don’t forget Alex and Dogg, too.

Where art thou, Gordon?

There they are, laid out on the table for all to see. What was your Best/Worst/Why Wasn’t This Announced E3 moment?
