The Nameless Mod: Reinventing Deus Ex
On Thursday the staff at Mod DB were given the chance to play the new Deus Ex total-conversion PC mod, claiming the moniker of The Nameless Mod. Taking over seven years to complete, with mounting anticipation despite numerous delays, The Nameless Mod is sure to make a large impact with fans of the original Deus Ex when it is released on February 24th.
Players assume the role of Trestkon, an ex-intelligence agent that now contributes to the management of a virtual community known as Forum City. Though, with all good stories, you encounter some complication; Deus ‘Diablo,’ a bigwig moderator of Forum City, has been abducted — and it’s your job to track him down.

Explore hundreds of new environments and characters.
Being an exclusive single-player experience, TNM boasts nearly fifteen hours of solid gameplay. And, as with Deus Ex, TNM offers non-linear RPG/Action in a cyberpunk-themed universe. After claiming your allegiance to either PlanetDeusEx or World Corp, the adventure splits, having “completely different stories that will keep you entertained from start to finish.” Apart from the main task at hand, there are many smaller side stories that offer superb replayability and depth to this mod. Furthermore, professional voice acting has been added for the majority of TNM’s dialogue, cutting out large chunks of text that often plague RPG’s.
As for aesthetics, this mod undoubtedly looks dated — but it shows that games from 2000 still have something to offer. Included in The Nameless Mod are several tools that can be used to polish its older engine, bringing it up to date with modern tastes.
Truth be told, I’d have to agree with Mod DB in saying that “It’s a must download.” After all, it’s not everyday that you encounter such an ambitious mod — and one that’s bound to make gaming history, no less.

Thanks for the kind words, Hank!
It’s my pleasure! I’m just sorry that this article didn’t get published sooner. It was done on the 13th of Feb., but didn’t get out here until now :[
Anyways, the mod looks excellent; I can’t wait!
Deus ex (1) was the best game I ever touched, 10 years time passed now and sadly nothing came near to it. Playing Deus Ex is burned into my memory, this mod looks really nice.
I suggest everyone to get the new vision mod when playing that mod, new vision replaces all textures by highres ones which greatly improves the environment of the DX universe.
