TF2 Players Beware: Spy Crab Alert
Recently, there was a discovery of a new species of crabs found in Team Fortress 2 called the ’spy crab.’ A video captures the species in the wild with the user name “Rare Endangered Spy Crab.” This phenomenon is a glitch found in TF2, and to execute this move, you choose the Spy class, equip the disguise kit, then look up and crouch.
For the sake of TF2 humanity: use, don’t abuse. What I mean is, use it during the countdown or after you’ve humiliated someone. But, if you’re going to walk like a crab every other second, it ruins the gameplay. It’s a useless glitch that doesn’t do anything for you, except make you look like a crab and raise laughter and/or frustration.
I didn’t get a chance to see it in person since I was MIA from the TF2 scene for a few weeks, and I’m glad I missed out on the crab action. Actually, I’m thinking of staying away for a while longer, though I couldn’t help but watch one of the videos. Sure, it was funny, but as I found, there are already far too many videos of spy crabs crawling around on the internet. Two fears creep up my spine: people are going to do this crab walk non-stop, and there are going to be more spies.
I have to admit, it would be funny to see spy crabs shuffling right into my scope, only to be head-shotted instantly; however, after about five times, I’m going to look for other servers. And if other servers are infested with this “endangered species,” I’ll just have to wait it out. Like with most jokes, it’s only funny the first few times.
That’s why the spy crabs (and spies) should stay endangered- you know, kept to a minimum. An overpopulation of spy crabs (and spies) would get annoying.
