Street Fighter fans need to prepare themselves for the new upcoming expansion to Street Fighter IV. The expansion should land in early 2010 and feature a bunch of new characters, including the already announced T. Hawk, Dee Jay, and newcomer Juri.
There’s not much known about the price point and other information about the title, but Capcom should be releasing more information in the coming weeks about who the other characters are and how much this expansion will cost.

The world of professional gaming is still struggling to figure out where it fits in. It doesn’t yet command the respect (or the salaries) professional athletes take in stride, and the recent bankruptcy of several major gaming leagues doesn’t bode well for e-sports.
Gootecks, real name Ryan Gutierrez, has been playing Street Fighter professionally for nearly a decade. Recently, he’s been trying to bring all the game’s bruises and badassery to a wider audience by hosting the live event Street Fighter Bar Fights.

Numerous mass media outlets have reported that the video game industry is supposedly “recession-proof.” To that regard, I would point them to the large amount of layoffs, studio closures, and sub-par performance on many game titles. GameStop’s continually recording breaking profit margins aside, the gaming industry is feeling the recession, and the wallets of gamers are beginning to get tighter.

Eager (and morally bankrupt) fighting game aficionados around the world can now get their hands on Street Fighter IV, despite the fact Capcom’s latest brawler has only been released in Japan.
The Xbox 360 version of the game leaked sometime this week, meaning all that stands between gamers and quarter-circle-punching glory is a bit of console modding and an illegal 6.4 GB download from any given torrent site, according to an N4G article.
