NVISION 08: SK-Ladies take home the W


Who says girls can’t game? SK-Ladies reeled in $13,000 in their North American win in the Women’s Counter-Strike 1.6 Grand Finals, in the ESWC. The ladies put in 20+ hours a week of dedication to prepare for this tournament, in addition to being full-time students and having jobs to supplement their gaming careers. These ladies boot-camped prior to the tournament and were definitely well prepared to bring the “W” home.

World of WarCraft on Joost


joost.jpg A few years ago, it was the hottest ticket to watch online program. Since then, I’ve pretty much ignored it.

Recently, German e-sports team SK Gaming (with help from Amok studios) began streaming live World of Warcraft content on Joost. And even though this isn’t going to break down the wall to spread gaming to a wider audience, it does one important thing: It gets folks to try Joost (if you haven’t) or rediscover it (it’s come a long way since the beta version).

SK-Gaming Drops Kil’Jaeden

Esports gaming circle SK-Gaming has been known for firsts for quite some time now. Originally a Quakeclan, SK-Gaming has rostered champions in many games, including WoW, Warcraft III, and their most notable area of success; Counter-Strike. Recently, they have conquered what may be the greatest obstacle ever erected in the WoW universe: Kil’ Jaeden. This monstrous boss fight is legendary amongst WoW players; consisting of three grueling phases wherein the fight can end at any moment due to a single player’s incompetence. Apparently, this sort of thing doesn’t bother the guys and girls over at SK. The record is duly noted in the history of WoW: there for us to ogle, but never again chase.
