Holy space time continuum Batman! Someone decided to destroy all rules and put a video game in the most dastardly place of all time. Where in Tom’s name is that you ask?
The most obvious place of ever, in video games themselves. As if you needed another game to bide your time with while already playing a game. Well, to each there own, I suppose.
Honestly, there are more games inside of video games than most of us realize. Rockstar, for instance, is notorious for placing bland satirical cabinet games inside of their controversial endeavors.

Wednesday at the Electronic Entertainment Expo was filled with appointments with various developers and publishers. I was able to see some titles behind closed doors, though a lot of them were demo only, meaning I wasn’t able to get a hands on feel for some of the titles.
It is looking like the rest of the year and early next year’s titles are looking solid, though finding out the amount of time between a lot of these titles (meaning now until release) is going to be a difficult one.

Bringing two great things together can be sweet, like chocolate and peanut butter. Sometimes, however, it’s a disaster. Since the 1990s, video game companies have experimented with franchise team-ups with mixed results. Some were great ideas that were poorly executed. Others never should’ve made it to the drawing board. Be careful what you wish for, fanboys, because for every Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, you get one of these…

Simple games where you can blow off some steam mowing down crowds of walking corpses guilt-free! It’s not like they’re people…Well, at least they used to be.

Sonic the Hedgehog, once a staple of the gaming community, has fallen quite far from his once high pedestal of fame. Instead of going back to a formula that worked, it seems that Sega has wanted to try out a few other ideas for their fuzzy blue mascot. Now the question is, with all the change that Sonic has undergone, is he even still the same hedgehog we knew and loved back on the Genesis?

What will be known as the most successful console in Sega’s long history, the Mega Drive (aka Genesis) was first released this week in Japan back in 1988. The Genesis officially began the 16-bit era, offering near-perfect ports of popular arcade games as well as hot original titles. It struggled at first in the face of the long-running NES and new-comer TurboGrafx-16, until a little blue hedgehog came along and changed the industry forever.

Beautiful babes have always been a video game staple, and PlatinumGames is staying true to that with their upcoming game, Bayonetta. The main character, Bayonetta, is gorgeous, deadly, and most importantly, knows just how to twist you around her finger. With Hideki Kamiya, creator of the Devil May Cry series, at the helm, we are sure to be in for one hell of a ride.
