By this point in time, you’ve got to know that I just love RPG’s, so of course I was excited to hear that Level 5’s White Knight Chronicles, originally released in Japan in 2008, was being released in the US as an international version.
Sony Computer Entertainment of America was kind enough to give me an early copy of the game to review for you, and they even gave me this cool art book filled with tons of back-story and information about all aspects of the game. I didn’t know exactly what to expect going into this adventure, but I came out pleasantly surprised. It’s got a lot of features that hard-core RPG players are going to love, and it’s got some features that others likely aren’t going to love, so let’s not waste any more time, here’s White Knight Chronicles.
Mass Effect was one of the first games I purchased for my Xbox 360. It had great game-play, a truly wonderful story, and the characters were very well developed. It also had some terribly repetitive and uninteresting side-missions, and unfortunately, whenever I had friends over to show them this great game, I was showing them the boring side-missions.
So when Bioware announced that Mass Effect 2 was on the way, all my buddies just blew it aside. Boy are they missing out, because Mass Effect 2 improved on every single aspect over the original. This game absolutely blew my mind. In fact, I don’t even know if I have a single thing to say bad about it. If you are like my friends and haven’t yet played the first, check out IGN’s video Mass Effect in 5 Minutes and you’ll be ready to rock and roll!
Ah tax return time; Butt-loads of free money to spend at will. To ensure I’ve got the best game reviews for you, I just built a top of the line gaming pc, got a new HD camcorder, a studio microphone, and picked up a Nintendo DS and a Playstation 3, and with that, of course I had to pick up the game everyone and their mom’s been talking about, Sony Computer Entertainment’s Uncharted 2. If you haven’t heard of this game then likely, you’ve been living under a rock, and I’ve got to say I was blessed to have this be the first title that I got to play on my new system. I don’t know if I’d call it the best game I’ve ever played, but it is pretty damn good. Combining Indian Jones with Michael Bay, you’ve got one hell of an adventure ahead of you, so let’s check it out!
MMOs are like crack and they will run your life and make you a mean malicious person, let alone raise your blood pressure through the roof, or maybe that’s just me. After 3 years of hard-core raiding on World of Warcraft, and another year experimenting with PvP on Warhammer Online and checking out Age of Conan, Eve Online and Tabula Rasa, and the years beforehand with Everquest, Asheron’s Call and Meridian 59, I can clearly say that MMOs have run my life for the past 10 years.
Well last April I just gave up on them all cold-turkey, as I didn’t like the person that I’d become as I played them, and that’s when I started reviewing games. And then my little brother graduates college and starts working for Cryptic Studios as a 3d artist and one of the ship designers for Star Trek Online. Great, now I HAVE to check out another MMO. So obviously I’m a bit biased and it’s not fair for me to review this game for you, but I would like to talk about it a bit. When you’re done watching this, make sure to head over to my new channel, ZeitgeistOther, that’s got game-play footage up for all of the games I’ll be reviewing
Back in December I did a preview of Divinity 2: Ego Dragonis for the YouTube channel, LikeTotallyAwesome. As Belgian developer Larian Studios gave me an advanced copy of both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game, I’ve had nearly a month to play through them before the game was released. I really had a wonderful time playing through this third person action role playing game; so I’d like to give you my thoughts and a comparison between the PC and 360 versions of the game, so let’s check it out!
It’s been about 9 month since the last episode of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the Nintendo Wii. Previous chapters in the series had you controlling multiple characters of various classes and races giving you a great traditional RPG dungeon crawling experience. Released on December 26th, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers takes a new approach by putting you in the shoes of a single character throughout the entire journey, and it doesn’t really feel like it belongs in the series at all. Square-Enix was kind enough to provide me with a copy of the game to review for you, so lets hop right in and see what it’s all about!
From my early childhood, I’ve been fascinated by knights, dragons, magic and the whole fantasy thing. Now, I’ve been a gamer for over 20 years, but in middle school I spent a lot of time playing Dungeons and Dragons, and I always wanted a great game that could really encompass everything that I dreamed up while playing the tabletop game. Well released in November, Bioware gave us Dragon Age: Origins, and it is what I consider to be Mass Effect meets Dungeons and Dragons, and is potentially the best fantasy adventure I’ve played, combining drama, sex, an epic quest to save the world, and even a whore or two thrown into the mix. Sound good to you? Let’s take a look!
Well it’s here, the final chapter of the five part Tales of Monkey Island episodic adventure. If you’ve been following the story, you know that Guybrush Threepwood is going through hell and back, literally. I’d like to thank TellTale Games for providing me with a copy to play through this past weekend as it was just as much fun as the previous chapters and finally, you get to see what becomes of our hero, his wife, the zombie pirate LeChuck, and all of the rest of the Caribbean. So lets not waste anymore time, here’s a quick recap of the things you’re going to see when you play through Tales of Monkey Island: Rise of the Pirate God!
