Raven Squad releases later this month for the PC and Xbox 360. Combining first person shooter and third person real time strategy modes, this title looks to change how genre-crossing can work. Players can control squads by using the overhead camera view to indicate way points and targets in the third person view, while the first person can run and gun in the first person.
The best thing about Raven Squad is that the game does both modes well. The gameplay can work strictly on either mode, but the combination of the the two work to the players’ advantage. Smart strategy is important and sometimes it just feels nice to aim down the irons and take some people out.
SouthPeak Games has announced their upcoming title Raven Squad has achieved gold status and will be shipping later this month.
Coming to the Xbox 360 and PC, Raven Squad combines Real Time Strategy and intense First Person Shooting with a flare akin to the iconic 80’s action flicks that inspired an entire generation to create a genre all it’s own.
Raven Squad is a first person shooter and real time strategy mix. Coming from SouthPeak Games, Raven Squad goes back to the 1980s for inspiration where action was all about unlimited ammo, huge explosions, and cheesed one-liners. All you need to do is think of the greatest and most awesome action movies of the 1980s and that is the mindset needed for this game.
