A new patch for Left 4 Dead has gone live (maybe not the best choice of words, but no matter). Apparently, Valve thought the Survivors had it too easy, because most of the updates beef up the undead while plugging up loopholes the living were exploiting.
For starters, infected players now have a HUD to keep track of how allies are faring. And as a late Christmas gift to Team Zombie, all the Special Infected get some goodies. (Except for the Boomer. I think he just got a plate of cookies or something. I mean, look at the guy…)

Throughout the day today, Bethesda is rolling out an update for it’s smash-hit RPG Fallout 3 across all platforms. PC users can either grab the update by logging into Games for Windows Live or by downloading it directly from Bethesda. Console users will be prompted to download the update upon logging into their respective game networks (LIVE or PSN). This update is required to play the upcoming DLC, Operation Anchorage, which will be released on January 27th for Xbox 360 and PC. Full patch notes follow after the jump.

Since before the announcement and release of the WotLK talents, many people speculated about how and if Blizzard was going to make rogues return to the “glory” days. By this I mean of course every rogue returning to a backstab orientated build, because as of right now it is effectively to the point of mashing your hemorrhage bind while staying at 25 energy. Now there is the occasional mutilate rogue, but really they are only effective in a few certain compositions and even then, if you understand how to play mutilate its only requires a little more attention to your abilities.

Millions of players around the world have probably grown sick of grinding the same Burning Crusade content over and over, and therfore are anxiously awaiting the new World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. Don’t worry WoW lovers, even if you don’t have the scratch for the new expansion, Blizzard plans on introducing Lich King content prior to the expansion’s release with an upcoming patch.

There are plenty of things I hate about the internet: it has made me frustrated, sad, angry and even disillusioned with the world. However, it’s not all bad. It brings me laughs, news and now even a patch for Soul Calibur IV. The ability to patch is something I love about next-gen systems. Developers’ opportunity to fix balance issues and bugs is essential to fighting games in particular, where a single buggy move can change the face of the game and sometimes completely ruin it. This was very apparent with Soul Calibur IV’s predecessor: Soul Calibur III.
