NVISION 08: SK-Ladies take home the W

Who says girls can’t game? SK-Ladies reeled in $13,000 in their North American win in the Women’s Counter-Strike 1.6 Grand Finals, in the ESWC. The ladies put in 20+ hours a week of dedication to prepare for this tournament, in addition to being full-time students and having jobs to supplement their gaming careers. These ladies boot-camped prior to the tournament and were definitely well prepared to bring the “W” home.

NVISION 08: Girl Gamers Changing the World- PMS Style!

Girl gamers are taking names!  We are stronger than ever before!  This is all thanks to great people like Amber and Amy Dalton of the PMS Clan: Pandora’s Mighty Soldiers.

At NVISION, we had the fortunate opportunity to interview Amber Dalton, co-founder of PMS.  A few years ago, she and her sister, Amy, discovered their love for the original Halo.  This love started a community, and that community has grown into a massive collaboration of 640 girls gaming and fragging worldwide.  They play all platforms competitively.  PMS promotes positive, competitive attitudes not just for girls, but all gamers.  Their proud supporters, and brother clan, is H20, the all-male counterpart.

LIVE from NVISION 08: What you really want (Chix0rz)

How to sustain a gamer through three days of fragging, fraternizing, and frolicking through other alliterative pursuits? Bawls and chicks. Sadly, though the dedicated gamers of the Guinness World Record attempt are only a mere doorway from the kiosks and babe-filled booths of the trade show, they are strapped to their gaming commitment and cannot partake of the buoyant bliss that is so desperately close. LIVE from NVISION 08: The Art of Case Modding

Here at NVISION 08, we’ve taken a close look at a few shining stars (or computers, however you want to look at it).

LIVE from NVISION 08: Hands-On in the 3D Stereoscopic Arena

Here in our happy, enormous area known as the BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer), NVIDIA has set up a booth to feature the new 3D Stereo gaming technology.  With 3-way SLI video cards already capable of creating the most epic battles that we can dream of, what could be the next step? 3D, of course!  At first it seems a little ridiculous, but NVISION (bless their souls) have yet again shown us there is still more to see in the widely explored gaming universe.

LIVE from NVISION 08: First Keynote and a Whole Lot of Pictures

NVISION 08 kicked off with a graphical bang in the San Jose Center for Performing Arts. CEO and co-founder of NVIDIA, Jen-Hsung Huang, along with a plethora of brilliant guest stars, discussed the Visual Computing Ecosystem, and the many spokes in its ever-turning wheel during their first keynote presentation. Covering topics such as graphics, parallel computing (which received a big “Whoo!” from one section of the mostly awed silent crowd), displays, and image processing, Huang and company dazzled with images, video, demos, and pure graphically-charged adrenaline. Images and details after the jump.
