Mr. Robot Universe 2008: Video Game Edition


Robots are as much a part of gaming as growth-inducing mushrooms and seemingly endless collectibles. In a wide variety of genres, gamers are given the opportunity to engage in cybernetic shenanigans, whether it’s building, destroying, riding, or flat-out being a robot. At first, I thought it’d be a good idea to try and rank some of gaming’s greatest robots; after all, gamers love their ordered lists. Try as I might, however, I just couldn’t bring myself to rank them. Instead, avoiding the whole apples vs. oranges argument altogether, I thought I would share with you some of my favorite robots from my personal gaming experiences in a list with only a slightly particular order.

KOTOR MMO News Coming Soon?


While still officially unannounced, there has been plenty of buzz on the Internet about the Knights of the Old Republic MMORPG ever since Bioware and LucasArts announced their collaboration on a “Ground-Breaking Interactive Entertainment Product” last October. There have even been recent rumors that official news on the KOTOR MMO could break any day now.

Soon after video games were created, Star Wars titles started hitting the shelves. Now, there is a near-endless supply of them – some that are really bad, but many that are quite good. Believe it or not, there are still people who have never played a Star Wars game. In celebration of the upcoming games Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, I am proud to present the best Star Wars games for those who have never dared to travel outside their own galaxy.

E3 2008 Rundown: Thursday, July 17th’s Events


Yesterday was the beginning of the end for the 2008 E3. All the major announcements from developers and industry leaders have already been covered, but there were a few nuggets and granules to glean from Joe Gamer’s hands-on experience with the new offerings. Plus, a few other news-related items that seem to fit in perfectly. Though the official subjective decision is still out, Microsoft seemed to have the strongest showing at E3 this year, with a number of Microsoft-specific news items to round out the final day.
