Gamer Culture, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360
I have learned that there are three topics in this world I will never gain any ground on when debating with another person: politics, religion, and gaming consoles. All three contain an endless circle of words where the same arguments are passed back and forth while one person waits for the other to finish only so he can run through his asinine case again. How many times do we need to hear that the Wii is a kiddy system, that Xbox 360s breakdown easily, and that PS3s are too expensive? Gaming forums across the web seethe with these everlasting conflicts and I have yet to see a single one where there was a clear winner. We have all seen the mind-numbing conflicts that include name calling (Xflop, Wiitard, Gaystation), the console sales statistics, the argument of whether graphics matter or not, and subjective/biased debates on what games are the best. It has all been done. It has all been said, and nothing has come of it. It would be great if fanboys (or should I say fanpersons?) would cut the crap and give everyone a break from the BS.

Technology, iPhone
Every time a new phone comes out with a touch screen, every obliquely tech related blog comes out with some story title like, “*New-Phone-Name* The iPhone Killer?” And each time it’s total crap. So this is not about an iPhone killer. Rather, what makes the T-Mobile’s G1 better and worse than the Apple iPhone?

Good new for Google: during a court settlement with Viacom in a New York federal court earlier this month, Google doesn’t have to turn over their source code, the code for identifying repeat copyright infringement uploads, copies of all videos marked private, and Google’s advertising database schema. Bad news for everyone else in America who has ever been to YouTube: due to the judge’s ruling, Google has to turn over the I.P. addresses and user names of people who viewed copyrighted videos and the databases concerning those copyrighted videos and how many times they were viewed. The judge deemed the privacy concerns as “speculative.” Why is this an issue worth mentioning? There are several different reasons.

You know Cipher, sometimes I think you just might have been right. Why did I take the freaking Blue Pill? Day after day, it becomes more apparent to me that the Wachowski brothers really are the reincarnation of Nostradamus. We’re getting step-by-step closer to living in the Matrix, and everyone’s favorite search engine, Google, is helping to speed up insertion with its new service, Lively.

Business, Start-Ups, Technology
I bet you didn’t know in 1998, the history of the United States changed forever. In that year, a small decision was made that affected the course of this country forever. It was something akin to the Boston Tea Party, but with fewer feathers, face paint, and wasted tea. The event: Google Inc. was officially born.
