Collector’s Editions Stole my Bike!

collectormania gotgameIt seems like Collector’s Edition have been around forever. If you go back and count gold cartridge games on the NES, then this may be true.

But gamers might remember Collector’s Editions’ later proliferation, beginning somewhere around the mid- to late-PS2-era of video games as a sort of test market for a reestablished price point of $60 per game.

With the new price point in place for this generation, it’s only natural for collector’s edition eclipse this mark by another 10 dollars. If my math is correct, that would put a current-gen CE running for $70.

Ghostbusters III Still Mostly Rumors and Speculation

We all have fond memories of Ghostbusters from our younger days, whether it was the original 1984 film, its 1989 sequel or the various spin-offs and merchandising ploys throughout the nineties. Developers Zootfly came forward shortly thereafter and confirmed that though the game was in development, they sadly didn’t have the actual license for it.

Sierra Day 2008: GotGame Takes an Inside Look at Prototype and Spyro

Dawn of the DragonWhen a game developer delivers big things, we come to expect bigger things. Sometimes, that happens… other times, it doesn’t.

Sierra, the publisher of such hits as F.E.A.R., Empire Earth and Spyro, has also delivered a few duds (50 Cent: Bulletproof? Really?). However, despite a few games that fell short, I still expect big things out of the company. And from the looks of Sierra Day 2008, we are not going to be disappointed.

Sierra previewed five titles, including Prototype, Ghostbusters, The Bourne Conspiracy, The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon and 50 Cent: Blood on Sand. Across the board, we were duly impressed, even the 50 Cent title looks far better than the original (although that’s not saying much…).
