Need For Speed: Nitro Facebook Customization

The Need For Speed series isn’t one to shy away from the social gaming platform, with the Facebook Need For Speed: Nitro game. Just announced was the newest update for the app which allows for all thirty cars to be customized.

Install the app and customize your car to challenge friends and the Need For Speed Community Team and join the leader boards.

For those unaware, the Facebook NFS: Nitro game is about collecting and sharing along with racing. Players level in cities by achieving goals on the track. Using similar 3D car models like in the Nintendo Wii version, and the custom Offer Management Engine which allows players to earn rewards by completing specific tasks; this version of Need For Speed was built for the social platform specifically.

Check out the app here.

This time around I chatted with mEgo’s co-CEO Ariel McNichol and fatfoogoo CEO Martin Herdina. Early thanks to Heather Sorensen for setting up the interview.

The Social Networking Double Standard

justice GotGameTime is a mystifying force. It can be as simple as the numbers displayed on your watch, or it can be a complex scientific concept that can boggle your mind. A not-so-scientific saying exists that states time flies by when you’re having fun. Gaming and social networking adds new dimensions to this saying.

People Can Be Scannable (if they want to be, for now…)

People who are interested enough can go to the company’s website and download the free application to your phone that enables this scanning to happen. And people who are even more interested can purchase W-41 clothing, like a shirt, with a unique 2D barcode attached.

Facebook Games: The Next Big Thing

Every day, I get a new invite on Facebook saying “So and so invites you to play yet another game.” At first, I was just annoyed, wanting the invite to go away and for me to be able to continue to stalk friends. And I had left Myspace because the pages were just becoming too cluttered and annoying. But eventually, I accidentally hit the dreaded “Accept Invite” button instead of “Reject.” And I realized something: Facebook may have hit the jackpot with this one.

Burdaloo: A Flash in the pan

I’ll admit, I’m not much of a casual gamer. I don’t take the subway or bus, generally don’t have time during work to play Scrabulous (may it rest in peace) or Minesweeper (I’m a newspaper copy editor), and at my local coffee shop, I prefer tinkering with my iPhone rather than my DS or PSP.

However, I believe it is healthy to dip into other types of genres every once in a while. CasualCafe, a developer of Facebook applications, recently introduced two Flash games, one of which is curiously titled Burdaloo.
