Mini-bosses have it rough. Life’s final bosses, the Bowsers, Liquid Snakes, Tyrants, corporate owners, and superintendents of the world, have it easy. They usually come back to sow chaos and discord in a sequel. Mini-bosses are different. They may be children of the final boss, clones, Vice Presidents, associate editors, random animals, or principals, but the story is always the same. They slow the hero up; they get their ass kicked; and when the next game rolls around they’re kicked to the curb in favor of newer, sexier mini-bosses.

I guess The Dark Knight has affected me more than I realized. All I can think about is how badass that movie is, and how it shows that not all sequels are crappy. Growing up I remember so many games that I played for hours without stopping for days and days on end. But whatever happened to those IP’s?! Why did they disappear? So I’ve decided that I have a top 5 list of games that have to have sequels made because their first versions were so badass.
