Bioware’s Mass Effect 2 is one of the most highly anticipated games for this year. But hype alone is not what sells games and brings profit for publisher EA.
In order to curb used-game resale prices that the developer and publisher doesn’t see a penny on, the “Cerberus Network” was revealed yestrerday as an in-game content and DLC delivery “pipeline,” in addition to monetizing future DLC updates for gamers who buy used (or other wise “not new”) copies of ME2.

Since the release of Need For Speed: Shift, there has been little information on the possibility of DLC content for the title. With such a huge game, it would make sense for Electronic Arts to push extra content for the title. It has been announced that a Team Racing DLC pack is going to be released for Xbox 360 (Dec 1) and PlayStation 3 (Dec 10) for North American players.

Many of us are aware of the controversy behind Capcom’s Versus Mode for recent chart-topper Resident Evil 5. Between the fact that the content was finished prior to the games launch, that its mere 1.86 MB download was thought to simply unlock content already on the disc, and the fact that it costs $4.99 when fans already spent $60 a month earlier, gamers everywhere were in a rage.

Mirror’s Edge, DICE’s first-person parkour experiment, seemingly inspired almost as many detractors as it did fans when it was released last November. However, when protagonist Faith was given the opportunity to wall-run, jump, and slide at full speed, few could find fault with the adrenaline pumping results. When downloadable maps and time trials hit this week, players will get all of the death-defying acrobatics they can handle.

On December 2nd, gamers will have the opportunity once again to jump into the shoes of the Prince of Persia when Ubisoft releases the latest installment of the classic franchise. In case you haven’t been keeping up, this Prince is not related to the Sands of Time trilogy; instead, this is yet another reinvention of the series, complete with a slick new cel-shaded look. Furthermore, Ubisoft is taking the Prince back to his roots and returning the franchise’s focus to acrobatics, puzzle solving, and combat in the form of one-on-one encounters. Considering the focus on acrobatics, it comes as no surprise that Ubisoft would give a DLC shout-out to its last wall-running, swan-diving title: Assassin’s Creed.

65 Million B.C. Earth downloaded a large comet. This new content added features like mass extinction, no sunlight, and fiery mess. The bugs were not quite worked out.
