The Disgaea series has always been one of crazy characters, amusing dialogue, and most of all, insane tactics RPG gameplay. However, with the recent announcement of Prinny: Is It Ok if I am the Main Character Dood!? the world of Disgaea is going from RPG to platformer. Can the series withstand such a drastic change, even for a spin off? I wouldn’t worry about that, dood.

Disgaea is easily one of the most addictive strategy RPG series in recent gaming history. While primarily recognized for its cast of demoniacally adorable characters (Prinnies!!), its claim to fame is its feature where you may enter an original 100-level dungeon within any and every item that comes into your possession. From this, one could potentially play Disgaea forever. I, myself, continue to grind away, having bought the game years ago and leaving Disgaea 2 to collect dust on my shelf, waiting for its turn. With its second sequel due out this month, one must ask, “How do you make playing through infinity better?”
