I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I am fascinated by the fact that the mundane can become the fun-dane when done virtually. Games like Cooking Mama have proven that cute, anime-eyed characters and bright colors can make anything appealing: despite my hatred of cooking, I can’t help but want to play that game every time I see a screenshot of it.
The other day, I thought to myself, “They’re not capitalizing upon this concept nearly enough. People seem to like working when they’re not actually working.” Considering the growing popularity of casual gaming and the fact that there are a countless number of occupations to explore, I have comprised a list of professions that should make their way to consoles:

Instead of researching the internet, I’ve decided to do some research in the kitchen, which incidentally is now a disaster. Keeping in mind the average gamer’s diet, need for speed, and other issues, I’ve come up with a few dishes. However, because my lab rats and the neighborhood kids are still showing side effects (vomiting, insomnia, spontaneous combustion, etc.), you may want to try some of these at your own risk.

It looks like Mars and Venus can play together after all. The number of female gamers has grown in recent years, and with the variety of games out there, it’s a wonder that anybody out there is still not playing them. The taste in games may differ between the sexes, but at least the playing field is leveling.

The Wii is a beautiful piece of technology that has revolutionized the way we play video games, and it has also sparked the creativity of young designers and gamers alike. While titles like World of Goo and LostWinds are fantastic departures from Wii Sports/Fit/Music etc. This little console has more potential for inventive and bizarre ideas we’d love to see the industry tackle.

These days, if you got your gaming news from television instead of fine places like this, you would hear mostly about the terrible things you can do in video games and how they turn our children into little soldiers.
