Most people remember Black, an action FPS from Stuart Black. That title was fun though a little short, so now Codemasters has announced Bodycount for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The scheduled release date is Q1 of 2011 so there is a lot more time to watch the progress of the title.
The description by Black sounds like it’s going to evolve Black into something amazing for Bodycount.
Bodycount’s revealed story so far is a global power struggle where enemies classified as “Targets” are taken out for the “Network.” Not too descriptive, but the idea of huge destructible environments provides a lot of hints. One being that stealth isn’t so important.
Using the EGO Game Technology Platform, Bodycount looks like it should be something to keep an eye on, though there is a long wait ahead.
Man, there were a lot of shooters released this year, but I’ve got to say, of those, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is hands down the most difficult. In games like Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3 and even Darkest of Days, you’re given rechargeable shields or health, but Dragon Rising takes it to the next level as the most realistic shooter I’ve ever played, in that most of the time, if you get shot, you’re dead. Top that with the fact that real life camouflaged enemies are hard to spot, and thus, game enemies are hard to spot, you’re going to take a beating as you play through this beast. I’d like to thank Codemasters for providing me with a copy of this to review for you. Released on October 6th for the Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC, here is Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.
Well, I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t know squat about cars. Hell, I even grew up in a family whose business was selling them, and I still couldn’t tell you what a rear differential was. Nonetheless, Codemasters sent me a copy of their newest racing game Dirt 2, and all I’ve got to say is DAMN! Now, I haven’t even played a racing game since one of the early Need For Speeds on the PC, and back then, there wasn’t much skill involved to be a leet driver, you just held down the gas pedal and drove. So take this review for what it’s worth. I’m not a racing game guy, but I thought this game was amazing! Released this past September for all consoles and handles, and this coming December for the PC, is Codemasters’ Dirt 2.
