Be Prepared: Street Fighter and Dragonball Tear Up Theaters In 2009


This year, fanboys abound will be treated to two big time video game and anime-based feature films, namely Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li and Dragonball Evolution. The Street Fighter movie is due to hit theaters in February, just in time for the stateside console release of Street Fighter IV. Dragonball will follow, arriving in theaters in April.

Trailers for both movies have just recently hit the internet. Have you seen them? Yeah, I’m not impressed either.

Street Fighter Extravaganza


Sick of the holidays already? Then look past them, and towards February 17, 2009, when one of the biggest game releases of the year is coming—known as none other than Street Fighter IV. Since 99% of American gamers were never able to experience Street Fighter’s wonder in the arcades, this is good news. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users will soon have another game to argue over console comparisons.

Hadouken! 1994 Street Fighter Director Wants New Film to be Better


Time has illustrated that video game movies are on the lower end of the movie-grading spectrum. As previously discussed by GotGame in “Tearing the Movie Stub” and “The Limits of Video Game Movies,” gamers despair when their favorite games leap from console to the big screen. With the new movie, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li, releasing in early 2009, Steven de Souza, the director of the 1994 Street Fighter, hopes this new film does better.
