Skate 3: Career Mode Reveal


I was again given a chance by Electronic Arts to check out the newly revealed career mode of Skate 3. Prior, they had only focused on the team-based multiplayer. For the event that they had on February 10, Black Box revealed what the career mode was going to be about.

A lot was shown during the quick presentation, and then I was given another chance to get some hands-on time. It’s safe to say that Skate 3 is still evolving in a positive direction, and the controls are still among the best.

The goal of Skate 3 is to expand the brand of the player across Port Carverton and become a skateboarding mogul. This is through the creation of your team, challenges, online events, and almost everything that can be done in the world of Skate 3. There is going to be a lot to do to get anywhere close to finishing the title, just for the single player.

Skate 3 Hands-On Preview


A couple weeks ago (October 28 to be exact), Electronic Arts was nice enough to invite me to see a pre-alpha build of Skate 3 to show off some of the tweaks that the game was going through long before its May 2010 release. This being my first time heading out to a publisher, I was a little nervous, but my love for the Skate series created a lot of anticipation for what I would be able to see.

At its core, Skate 3 still contains what makes the series different from other skateboard games. I got to sit down with both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 pre-alpha builds and have a chance to experience the new focus of the game, Teams.
