Shiren the Wanderer Screens Plus Info

Shiren the Wanderer is a game that I have missed entirely and I feel bad about it. The game is about Shiren, who is given a key by his former master, who then has to solve a millennium old mystery and find out about a sleeping princess inside Karakuri Mansion.

With a feudal Japan setting, Shiren the Wanderer is a welcome addition to the Nintendo Wii family.

Check inside for screens and more information about the game.

3D Dot Game Heroes Trailer and Screens

It’s always interesting to see throwbacks to old game styles on current consoles. With that in mind, 3D Dot Game Heroes takes that idea in a entirely amazing direction. Taking the 8-bit style and creating a three dimensional world sounds easy, but from the look of the trailer and the screens, 3D Dot Game Heroes is not going to be a game easily dismissed.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Review

Having never played a Shin Megami Tensei title, but hearing a lot of positive reactions to the series, I was interested in playing this port of the first title. Granted the game is a little old, but the original localization of the game left a lot out and probably confused a lot of American gamers.

This updated and vastly improved edition of the game is a great way to experience the origins of the series, as it was meant to be.

Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble Review

As a big fan of the Japanese movie Crows Zero and its sequel Crows Zero 2, I was really interested in Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble and the portrayal of Japanese High School thugs in this game. Atlus has been releasing many interesting games lately, many of which might have not gotten a chance to see past the shores of Japan and Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble is one of those games that deserves a chance for wider appreciation.

The game takes place over seven days in Kyoto on a high school trip. Over these seven days, the goal is to defeat all the other school’s Banchos and become the best fighter in Japan. An interesting side note is that while the game focuses on the journey to become the best fighter, it also includes a secondary relationship gameplay function in the game.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Announced

Atlus has been on a bit of a roll, releasing some really good games lately. Now releasing in the Spring of 2010, Atlus is revealing a new Shin Megami Tensei for the Nintendo DS, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey.

Taking a different approach than previous SMT games, this one will be a first person Sci Fi RPG. While this SMT game will be wandering in new directions, the classic SMT: Nocturne will be an influence on this new title.

Check out some screens and art for the upcoming release.

Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble New Screens

kenkabancho_screens_44Kenka Bancho will be releasing on PlayStation Portable on November 10 and Atlus has seen fit to release some new screens of the game to prepare the unleashing of the badassness of the Banchos in the game.

Taking the themes from the Japanese High School gangster movies and manga, Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble is a great way to see how crazy it can be, without the actual physical violence.

Check out our review of the game which will be coming out this week.

Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble Trash Talk Screens

This new game from Atlus keeps reminding me of the Miike film, Crows Zero. With its high school gangster characters, ridiculous dialogue, and only in the game - interesting costumes.

Hopefully the game could contain Japanese dialogue because the intonation of this slang is as much a part of the culture as the fighting.

Considering the run that Altus has had lately with Shin Megami Tensei: Persona and Demon’s Souls, Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble is only going to expand the library of great games that American fans can experience.

Check out some new screens after the jump.

Support the Demon’s Souls Wiki

Demon’s Souls releases tomorrow exclusively on the PlayStation 3. Check out my review here to get a feel of what it’s going to be like.

With the assistance online component of the game going live on October 6, Atlus has also smartly decided to start a wiki page about Demon’s Soul as a real-time strategy guide that will assist in a different way than Demon’s Souls online function.

This couldn’t come at a better time because gamers are going to need to help each other to complete sections of the game.

Be sure to bookmark the wiki here.
