Square Enix’s Titles to be on Steam


squareDeveloper Square Enix’s titles will soon be available on Steam, Valve’s PC digital distribution website, announced both companies recently. On April 9, The Last Remnant will be Square’s first title to be available for purchase and download.

Square Enix is best known for their Final Fantasy and Kingdom of Hearts series. Other Square titles are expected to be made available on Steam, although exact dates, games, and prices have yet to be announced.

last_remnantThe Last Remnant is an action based RPG with a PC release date slated in March. The Xbox 360 version hit shelves last fall. The title will also be gracing the PS3, although a release date has not yet been set.

Steam is an online digital distribution site that allows consumers to directly purchase and download PC games without the hassle of ever having to leave their homes. The site continues to grow as they have been adding more titles and securing new developers, offering consumers more variety in their online game shopping

The announcement of this newest addition to Steam’s growing library is good news for video game fans, giving fans more games to purchase, and ultimately less trips to the local video game store.

  1. I don’t often play games on my PC, but if SE titles occasionally received the grand Steam discount that is allotted to other games, I’d reconsider my PC as a more frequent gaming platform.
