Rocking Out Gets Sweeter
Avid guitar hero fans can now rock out whenever, wherever. Thanks to Guitar Hero Mobile, players rejoice to the easy and convenient access of rocking out on ‘the go.’ As of mid-June, Guitar Hero III Mobile proudly hit the one million downloads mark, successfully reaching the top of the sales charts. With an average of 250, 000 songs played per day, it’s clear that the nation can’t get enough of the greatest 80s and 90s classic rock.
The game’s success was acknowledged with two 7th Annual BREW 2008 Developers Choice Awards, for Best Game and the People’s Choice. The people’s choice award is a no brainer; fans love the game’s array of classic sing-a-long tunes and pocket-sized goodness. The three-button game truly rocks you like a hurricane and screams to “hit me with your best shot,” pun intended. The director of Hands-On marketing, David McCaman, claims its success mainly derives from both the community of fans and interactive experience itself.
Either way, the growing number of daily downloads and major awards speak for themselves. Every month, three new songs become available to download while the web site contains a list of 15 starting songs, making it easy for Guitar Hero lovers to perfect their chords and over-play their favorite tunes. So, if you notice someone on the subway pounding fervently into their phone, don’t be alarmed. They are probably just rocking out to Guitar Hero III Mobile, on the go.
