Resident Evil 5 Continues to Tease Gamers
Fans of the Resident Evil series once again have reason to rejoice! With the Japanese demo of the game released on Xbox LIVE recently and a viral campaign on the official website, Capcom is doing good work at getting the masses excited. However, does the demo of the game show off enough to make RE 4 haters drop their issues with the last game and pick up the new one without hesitation, or is it just a RE 4 clone?

So, in Resident Evil 5 we will have bullets in fruit (seriously, that makes no sense at all), a Dead Space-like active inventory system, an unshared inventory, and co-op moves to go along with your new partner; a bunch of relatively interesting updates to the series. It appears (and it seems everyone playing the demo now agrees) that RE 5 is simply a continuation of RE 4’s gameplay style and scenarios. For those who enjoyed RE 4, you are sure to love this addition to the series. For those of you who long for the survival horror aspect of the game and didn’t care for the action-based style, you will probably be let down. However, the fact that your AI (or “human controlled,” if you wish) partner is actually smart and has a gun and inventory of her own in this game makes it a vast improvement over Ashley in RE 4. Overall, Resident Evil 5 is shaping up to be a well-balanced game with enough upgrades to keep the old fans happy and the newcomers interested until the end.
