Movies, Xbox 360

Playing with The Dark Knight

This past month has been a son-uva-bitch for me. Let’s just say I had a GF, an Xbox 360, and the last time I saw both was the night I watched The Dark Knight for the first time. Now, I’m not one to complain about losing a girl, but losing the 360 because of the girl… not so cool. So now, I’m in love with a movie, a dead actor, and, most recently, an elusive and rare fusion of the two and my now missing 360; it’s the official special edition: Dark Knight Xbox 360.

Microsoft only made about 110 of these consoles, so it probably comes as no surprise that to get one you’ve got to drop around $1,200 on eBay. Normally, I would say that this is a complete waste of money. Spending that hard-earned cash just because I’m a bit of a freakish fan about The Dark Knight and Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker is something I’d normally mock a person ceaselessly for (I’m kinda mean like that.) But considering that I’m now saving tons and tons of money because I’m only spending it on myself, I think I can save, and scour the couch for spare change and buy myself this sweet 360 as a superior replacement to my prior entertainment…

The only thing better for this lofty love would be a decent Dark Knight game to play inside this rare Xbox. But, by the sound of things from Gary Oldman, I won’t have to wait long to play one. I just hope this game doesn’t go the way of most movie-to-game transitions: sucking ginormous balls. So, now I can have my Batman and play with him too! Wait, I think that may have sounded more creepy than funny; kinda like a Tobias Fünke moment. Oh well, it’s my new love, and I don’t care who knows it!
