Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 2 to be Less Expensive than Episode 1

If you haven’t explored the Lovecraft-inspired 1920s steampunk town of New Arcadia, you are truly missing out on some of the most brilliant comedic game design of our time. Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 1 sported demonic mimes, fruit-defiling robots and the ability to brutally pummel barbershop quartets; if that isn’t gaming bliss, I don’t know what is. After months of teasers, Hothead Games is proud to announce some startling developments regarding the next entry in the series.

In a recent press release, Hothead Games announced that the Windows, Mac and Linux versions of Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 2 have reached Gold Master status. The game will be available through the Greenhouse distribution service as well as Xbox LIVE Arcade. The best part about Episode 2 is that, unlike its $20 (1600 MS points) predecessor, it will be priced at $14.95 (1200 MS points).

You said it Gabe!

You said it, Gabe!

A lot of gamers were up in arms over the price tag of the first episode; that probably didn’t deter sales though, since there was a loophole that many people exploited in order to get the game for $15. There were some of us that paid full price for the game prior to the loophole’s discovery, but I’m not bitter about the extra five dollars I didn’t have to spend, Episode 1 was worth it. And since Episode 2 is sporting that lovely M rating, I think it’s safe to assume the tradition of vulgarity and fruit fucking will continue unabated.

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 2 will be available at (of this writing) an unspecified time this fall.
