Big teams playing for big money. It’s one of the largest and most spectacular events of the year—and fittingly, NVISION will be attracting some of the biggest names in competitive gaming for an event that’s sure to be unforgettable.
NVISION will kick off Monday’s 1,200-man BYOC in San Jose along with the Electronic Sports World Cup. GotGame will be there live to provide all-access, exclusive news coverage over the course of the 3-day event. The ESWC will showcase matches of teams that have traveled across the globe from over 50 countries to compete in games such as Counter-Strike 1.6, Warcraft 3, Quake, and Defense of the Ancients. Over 150 teams will participate in the ESWC, 14 of them composed of all women who will be competing in the Women’s Counter-Strike tournament. Having made it to these Grand Finals, these are the best and brightest from their respective countries, competing for over $200,000 in total prize winnings. And now, they’re set to compete on an international level, repping not only their clans but also their countries. Wednesday will see most of the final competitions for each game, with the Awards Ceremony towards the very end of NVISION.
Meanwhile, tournaments for Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3 will also be underway, separate from the ESWC in NVIDIA’s GeForce LAN event. This event will be scheduled as single-elimination for the first round, double-elimination for the second. Some of the best teams for each game will be traveling to downtown San Jose for this competition, including yours truly, Zain “zigzag” Ali with my CoD4 clan Rebel’s Gaming. These tournaments are scheduled to begin around 4pm PST on Monday, with the tournament finals coinciding with the ESWC final awards ceremony.
ESWC will have a live stream of matches on their website as well as tournament brackets. Stay tuned to GotGame for updates throughout the event, further information about the tournaments, and in-depth reviews of everything exciting going down at NVISION 08.
