Well, here we are again with the next episode of Tales of Monkey Island. Released this past Friday, The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood continues right where episode 3 left off.
Recall that Guybrush had just escaped from the stomach of a giant manatee and got a hold of La Esponja Grande when out of the blue; Morgan La’Flay betrayed and captured him to return him to the Marquis DeSinge. If you haven’t yet seen my reviews of episodes 1 through 3, you’ll want to check those out first, otherwise, here’s a quick run-through of what you’re going to experience in The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood.
Tales of Monkey Island: The Siege of Spinner Key was just released and you better believe I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. After just completing the first episode “Launch of the Screaming Narwhal”, I simply couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen to Guybrush Threepwood next!.
The Siege of Spinner Key puts Guybrush on the Jerkbait Islands and of course has to solve a bunch of mysteries on his quest to rescue his wife Elaine, stop the evil LeChuck, and cure the evil voodoo pox spreading all over the Caribbean!
When it comes to video games, Hollywood has it all wrong.
But with the recent release of indie film The Legend of Zelda: Hero of Time, it seems gamers can finally watch a faithful adaptation of a great game. It’s not a big budget production, but the film crew nailed it better than the hot shots at large movie companies.
Sure, they don’t have the best special effects or big-name actors, but where the rest of the movie industry has failed, indie filmmakers can create movies actually deserving of their video game-based content.
Upon its initial release, the Wii’s remote controllers had been given a bad rap of being dangerous. However, this was mostly because if the remote were not used properly you would have the little while controller lodged in the dead center of your TV screen. Most gamers know that this isn’t anything new, and that controllers, games, and even consoles can be dangerous all by themselves.
Best quote EVER at 1:15: “Ahh Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the old klingon proverb that tells us that revenge is a dish best served cold? It is very cold is SPACE!”
What is that Klingon Proverb…in Klingon preferably? Buhler??
