Final Fantasy sure has changed over the years.
These days, Square is substituting surface flashiness for that unique FF element that, in earlier titles, conjured genuine wonderment. This is especially evident in the new trailer for XIII. The original FF magic has been lost, and unfortunately, it’s in Square-Enix’s best interest to cultivate the evolution.
Some fans claim the franchise peaked around VI, others that XIII will be the best one yet. One thing’s certain: no matter how much the older fans miss bygone FF eras, the games will never be the same again.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is now in stores. If you choose to buy the game at retail, the UMD edition comes with a limited edition 2-disc soundtrack. So best bet is to go out and buy it now if you want the soundtrack to this interesting game.
Gamers who buy their PSP games through the PSN will have to wait until 10/01 when it releases. Interestingly enough, SMT: Persona releases the same day as the PSPGo.
Coincidence?

The PlayStation Network has been a little lacking on the PSP front. But with the upcoming PSPGo release on 10/1, a lot of publishers appear to be getting ready for the possible well-executed release of this premium portable console.
XSEED has announced that on 9/24/09, Half-Minute Hero’s second demo will be releasing on the PlayStation Network.
Here are the details:
This demo will feature Evil Lord Mode, a real-time strategy game where players will take control of the powerful, and obnoxiously gorgeous, Evil Lord. In this mode players must summon monsters to fight enemies. Summon monsters are divided into three types: Brutes, Nimbles and Shooters, and enemies are also divided up into the same categories. Each type of monster or enemy has advantages/disadvantages towards another type of monster or enemy. Figuring out the best strategy to use against each type is crucial as when the time limit reaches zero, your reign of evil is over.
Look for it at the PSN.

A few months ago, Stephen Dinehart’s inner tech geek flashed on. Flexing mental muscles he hadn’t used since grad school, he set out to create The Narrative Designer’s Network, which officially launched Tuesday.
Sporting a slick front page and a pronounced audio intro, the Web site is a product of Narrware, an indie developer. Dinehart, creative director at the company, hopes the site will foster community among narrative designers, though he said it could also benefit gamers.
Comic lovers everywhere are worried over Disney’s recent $4 billion purchase of Marvel. Granted, other comic fans, far from scared, are excited or even indifferent — the whole spectrum of emotions comes into play with big news.
Nothing is concrete yet, but this merger’s possibilities are endless. Let alone odd mashups, it could change the way we view comics, for better or worse, or even spell a new era of Marvel movie madness. Here’s a look at just three things that could happen.
