If you’re like me, and your current laptop just isn’t cutting it for gaming, then you might want to invest in a custom built gaming PC. These things can be amazingly powerful—to the point that they may put your console to shame. This video shows how you can build an affordable gaming PC that will do wonders to soothe your PC gaming itch. And keep in mind, this is part one, but the remainder of the videos can be easily found online. And this will give you a great start.
This video is just too funny. This guy pretends to have a smooth jazz radio show while playing Sonic. I don’t know what’s worse: the fact that I listened to the whole thing from beginning to end? Or the fact that I’ve listened to this sort of radio broadcast on my local NPR affiliate many times before driving home at four in the morning.
The web has undergone a steady evolution of hosted multimedia outlets. As technology permitted, each trend would explode and spread like wildfire across the world. First came free hosting, followed by written blogs, then podcasts, and now the latest sensation: video blogs. But what do these video blogs mean for online journalism?
Wii, Suda 51, and No More Heroes fans, rejoice! During this year’s Tokyo Game Show, a sequel to the saber-slashing, blood-gushing, assassin-slaying hit was revealed. Travis Touchdown announced in the debut trailer that, à la Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator, he will be back! And he’s bringing crazy assassins with him as well.
I missed this one on April Fools’ Day, too busy being Rickroll’d by every other site on the web, but IGN’s live action Zelda trailer is worth watching beyond its initial “gotcha!” holiday victory. For a fake, it’s surprisingly high quality, and represents pretty much what every Zelda fan would sell their left, sword-swingin’ arm to get a real taste of–aside from Ganon’s getup, which is probably the funniest part of the entire joke.
With the release of Mega Man 9, the proof is now in the pudding that a video game whose flagship feature is challenging gameplay rather than high-definition graphical eye candy can find its place in today’s market. With this and so many classic titles still finding audience in the current generation, is this more than just a trend of retro-chic? Or are we witnessing the return of “Nintendo Hard”?
Before last weekend, I assumed everyone in the world had already seen “Half-Life: Full Life Consequences.” It’s just one of those videos, like Bubb-Rubb or Charlie the Unicorn. But, half of our merry hotel party, dedicated gamers themselves, had never witnessed the greatness that is below (c’mon, guys). The “story” is taken directly from a work of fanfiction found on fanfiction.net, and the final product, by Djy1991, is too good to miss. “Its time for me to live up to my family name and face full life consequences…!”
Think you have a high level of patience? You’ve got nothing on the gamer in the following video. Apparently his friend designed a whole set of Super Mario World levels and challenged him to beat them all. The levels are all challenging, but some are downright wicked in their deception. I found this one to be the most cruel. Think of it whenever you get stuck in a game and realize that most any obstacle can be surpassed. You might just have to focus your rage into perseverence. I also imagine a field of KOed babies surrounding this guy by the time he finished. That might help too.
