A couple weeks ago (October 28 to be exact), Electronic Arts was nice enough to invite me to see a pre-alpha build of Skate 3 to show off some of the tweaks that the game was going through long before its May 2010 release. This being my first time heading out to a publisher, I was a little nervous, but my love for the Skate series created a lot of anticipation for what I would be able to see.
At its core, Skate 3 still contains what makes the series different from other skateboard games. I got to sit down with both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 pre-alpha builds and have a chance to experience the new focus of the game, Teams.
Every E3 event has its amazing announcements for new IPs: many that have already leaked, plenty that nobody care about, and announcements that never happened.
Seeing as this year’s E3 is no different, let us weigh our opinions on the best announcement, worst announcement, and must disappointing unannouncement at E3 this year. Final Fantasy what? 14?
Wednesday at the Electronic Entertainment Expo was filled with appointments with various developers and publishers. I was able to see some titles behind closed doors, though a lot of them were demo only, meaning I wasn’t able to get a hands on feel for some of the titles.
It is looking like the rest of the year and early next year’s titles are looking solid, though finding out the amount of time between a lot of these titles (meaning now until release) is going to be a difficult one.
At 11 AM, I ventured to the Shrine Auditorium to attend Sony’s E3 Press Conference.
While a lot of the games shown were already known, or secrets leaked (PSP Go), it was an informative and interesting presentation. It’s safe to say that alternative controllers are the new fad among the big three.
On Monday, May 18, 2009; I had the chance to attend the SanFran MusicTech Summit at Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco’s dilapidated Japantown. During the summit, which ran from 9 am to around 6 pm, I sat in on a few panels where musicians, record label types, and various businesses all sat down to discuss where the music industry is heading and how the changes would affect everyone.
