Keg End: Drunken Festivities in Warhammer Online

If there’s one thing that Dwarves in the Warhammer universe enjoy more than fighting, it’s drinking. Starting January 17th, Keg End, the fictional holiday period in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, celebrates both vices with nearly three weeks of fireworks, boasting and drunken MMO excitement. After all, why not double the fun of the holidays by celebrating in both the real and virtual realms?

In order to claim good luck for the new year ahead, tradition encourages the consumption of the previous years’ supply of ale throughout dwarven and human lands. Players are offered several festive quests with the beginning of Keg End, such as rescuing ale stores from snotling plundering, or tracking down the famed Golden Stein, which has a “damage boosting aura of Frothy Goodness.” Certain achievements are also available through slaying ogres or drinking your share of mead, such as claiming “The Drunkard” title, or obtaining “The Last Call Keg,” allowing players to use their city’s pub as a way point (har har har).

If MMO’s and booze isn’t your favorite combination, have no fear! Players still have a luminous display of fireworks to look forward to in the upcoming weeks of Keg End. Boast and be merry under dazzling displays of dwarven pyrotechnics, while not letting your guard down because of virtual intoxication.

Whether on the side of Order or Destruction, there is plenty of chaos to be had this season with Warhammer Online’s in-game celebration of epic proportion going on until January 5th.

Some elves seem to fancy a bottle of wine
An’ manlings like whiskey that’s aged fer a time
But Bugmans’ the dwarf with the ale that’s the best
His brew be the kind that puts hair on yer chest
It’s Keg End, now drink up yer beer

- Overheard in Altdorf by a group of Keg Revelers
