Guild Wars 2 Delayed

Guild Wars 2 will be delayed, this following news of financial hardships at NCsoft West. The sequel is now looking at a 2010/2011 release, with the reasoning behind the delay being levied at financial restructuring within the company.

While Guild Wars 2 never had an official release date, it was widely speculated that the game would be out well before the new timetable.

Guild Wars is a multiplayer online role-playing games developed by ArenaNet and published by NCsoft. Three stand-alone episodes and one expansion pack were released in the series from April 2005 to August 2007.

Guild Wars 2, a sequel to the original episodes, will supposedly not have any subscription fees, similar to other installments. A lack of a subscription fee combined with great game play made Guild Wars a popular and well received game. Guild Wars 2 is hoping to build upon that success.

With news of financial woes, and now this new setback, many fans may begin to worry if this game ever sees the light of day. As of now, eventual release of the game still looks promising, although fans may have to wait a while to get their hands on this much anticipated sequel.
