GTA IV Social Club on its Way

SocialClub3
So it looks like with the release of the next Grand Theft Auto game, Rockstar intends to launch a site called Rockstar Games: Social Club, where gamers will be able to view statistical leader boards, participate in competitions, view a virtual map that will keep track of players’ activities in the single-player campaign, and tons of other features that Rockstar will roll out as time goes on.

The site will incorporate data from both Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 players, and will keep a dynamic Hall of Fame that will have achievements such as the first player to complete 100% of the game. One of the features, known as the LCPD Police Blotter, will show the most dangerous areas of town and other statistics, like the most commonly used weapons. If this proves to be popular, being that Grand Theft Auto is one of the biggest names in video game history, we can expect other games to follow suit.

sounds awesome. cant wait for the competitions!

  2. There have still been rumors that the XBOX 360 version will have downloadable content in the future that PS3 will not (Supposedly Microsoft payed big bucks for this deal). Whether it is true or not, I wonder if fans will get in an uproar because of the division of certain areas/aspects of the game. Don’t you love multi-platform drama? I know I do.

Man, who else is psyched about GTA? It’s going to be great!

  4. Sounds like a great idea. Its a very original idea that should revolutionize the gaming industry…at least slightly. I can’t wait to meet my competition online! Good luck to my challengers!

hehe, implementing a stats/achievements system sounds like a pretty ingenious idea to keep people interested in the game. at least for myself, i know i was obsessed/intrigued by the player stats pages in warcraft iii. heck, i’m even captivated by the player stats on steam (playing many a game of team fortress 2 for the sole intention of getting that damned sentry gunner achievement–it’s way harder than it sounds!!!!!!!)

  6. I cant wait for GTA V !!!
