Exclusive Interview with Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice

It’s not often that we here at the GotGame offices are star-struck, but that all changed this morning when our latest interviewee walked through the door, lightsaber in hand. With the eminent release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, I had the honor of interviewing Lucas Arts’ newest star, Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice. I took the opportunity to ask him about some of the creative decisions behind the game, what’s next for his career, and the TMZ video of him and Lindsey Lohan. Begun this interview has!

GotGame: How did you go about building a new character in an established universe like Star Wars?
Secret Apprentice: I really have to thank my writers and the project lead, Hayden Blackmon, for enabling me to show people that the Secret Apprentice is not just a Jedi master; he’s a person too with feelings and a dog. I think that by enabling the audience to see my past throughout the game, it really lets them connect with me as a person. I mean, hey, I’m not just some guy next door that can Force-Stop Star Destroyers. Just the other day I helped Yoda reach the cookies on the top shelf and played ping pong with Boba Fett.

GG: Speaking of Star Destroyers, did you do all of your own stunts for this project, or can we expect a big dose of CG?
SA: We- and by we, I mean the entire game design staff at Lucas Arts- tried to add as much realism to this game as possible. Going back to the aforementioned Force-Stop of a Star Destroyer, none of that was staged. I actually did it in just one take. It was a really expensive scene and we just had to get it right the first time. The whole crew banded together and got the job done.

GG: How has success changed you? I heard that you have a cameo in the upcoming Soul Calibur IV game?
SA: Oh, that is totally our marketing department. I have to say, though, that spending time training with the ladies of Soul Calibur was a liberating experience. Obviously, success is a double-edged sword. For every time I meet a true fan of the series, there is another when some paparazzi asshole is hiding in a tree, trying to catch Lindsey and I together.

GG: So the Internet rumors are true then, you and Lindsey are a couple?
SA: Look, I’m a huge star. Not only that, but I have a freaking lightsaber. So what if I like to have a good time? I really don’t think that’s anyone’s business. Lindsey and I met on set, and I just had to find out if I could Force persuade her. Maybe she has a weak will.

GG: I can see that is a sore subject… by the way, one of our writers seems to be missing a hand- any clue on what happened there?
SA: Oh, I was really hoping you weren’t going to bring that up. I was trying to teach him how to Force-Push interns off of the balcony. Anyway, long story short, we kind of had an accident. At least the wound immediately cauterized.

GG: …I think that’s all we have time for. I hear that Lindsey is a real tomcat?
SA: Yeah, she is. Thanks for speaking with me.
