GDC 09: Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures: The Last Resort Impressions
I had a chance to have a hands-on play test of Telltale Games second episode of their Wallace and Gromit series. It’s apparent that Telltale is working hard on making sure the license is being used to its fullest extent. I enjoyed the first episode in the series, though I had a little trouble with some of the puzzles in the game. This second episode looks to follow a different direction.
Emily Morganti, Telltale Games’ Marketing and Public Relations, showed me a work-in-progress of the second episode, titled The Last Resort. It plays differently than the first episode, Fright of the Bumblebees, but still retains the charm of the series.
During my time with the game, Emily mentioned that this episode was designed by a different person, and it shows immediately. The story for this episode has Wallace trying to bring the beach to his basement and I could see the storyline unfolding with many of the same characters from the first episode.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the full episode contains and what other adventures Wallace and Gromit find themselves in.
