Gaming on the Go: You Can Take it (your system) with You
We’ve all seen them, we know them. We may have even been them at one point or another in our lives—and today, I am admitting that even I was one. I…was a bagger.
The gaming systems of today seem more apt to become $300 paper weights if you just glance at them the wrong way, so it has become more important than ever to know how to protect your entertainment investments.
Before there were PSPs and affordable laptops, whenever it was necessary to ‘game on the go,’ I, like many other foolish youths, toted gaming console of choice (my SNES), the single greatest source of entertaining 16-bit bliss around in plastic grocery bags, pillow cases, or anything else I could get my hands on. And as sturdy as those hard plastic bundles of jumping-plumber excitement were, they were not indestructible (as I woefully discovered one cold and rainy day in 1992). Looking back on those years, I have learned that poor protection of your gaming system will only lead to disastrous ends.
Here is a look at some products designed to make sure your system of choice is as mobile as you are.
PS3: G-Pak Console Organizer for PS3
Playstation 3 G-Pak Console Organizer Case is a wonderful way to keep your system, accessories and favorite games all in one place. One huge bonus is that it lets you use your PS3 in the case.
Wii: Secure carrying case for system and accessories
Much like PS3 G-Pak, this carrying case for the Wii securely stores both the system and accessories, and lets you play the system while in the case.
XBOX 360: Multifunction Carrying Case for the XBox 360
This Multifunction Carrying Case for the Xbox 360 allows gamers to carry their system, accessories and up to 16 game discs.
It is my hope that you will heed my warnings and cast off your plastic grocery bags in favor for a more sophisticated transportation method for your gaming system of choice. Hopefully this summer, your console will arrive as safe and sound as you will, wherever your destination may be.
