Don’t be That Guy. ‘Cause the Name’s Taken
“Don’t be that guy.” You’ve heard the expression. It’s usually in reference to a guy who is in one way or another is a complete douche bag. A popular example is the guy who is completely obsessed with some type of escapism (video games, D&D, Dragon Lance Novels ect.) who just won’t shut up about it once you get him started.
Well, you probably have a friend who’s “that guy.” You know, the friend who goes on and on about Halo strategies, or why Duke Nukem Forever; is going to be the greatest shooter “EVAAAR!” and can’t control the volume of his voice no matter how often you tell him to shut up.
He’s the guy that no one can really stand, but you keep him around because, despite his loud-mouthed capacity for douchiness, he’s actually a pretty good sniper.
When you’re hanging out with this guy and you find yourself saying, “Dude, don’t be that guy,” you’re actually referencing someone. You probably think “That Guy” is just some kind of massive unit of uncoolness that people are judged by. Well, it turns out that “That Guy” is an actual person, and the poor bastards here at GotGame have actually given him a soap box on which he is encouraged to rant and rave as much as he wants.

Yep, I’m “That Guy.” My preferred brand of escapism is video games (as you could probably have guessed) and I spend just as much time reading about games as I do actually playing them. In a way, video game news has become its own type of escapism.
So, welcome to a new column here at GotGame where I, That Guy, will give you my take on the news coming out of the gaming sector… or whatever I really feel like talking about.
Until next time bitches,
PS: I’ll try to keep this thing updated at least once a week.

Looking forward to “That Guy”s rantings and ravings.
It’s That Guy! Looking forward to reading more.
Man, that guy sure loves Halo 3.
What can I say? I am a connoisseur of any game that supports and encourages the use of the teabag.
