Rumor: Another Xbox 360 Price Cut is Imminent

xboxslash.gifHarken, dear readers, and bear witness to the inevitable horrors of Adam Smith’s Invisible Hand laying waste to the unsuspecting economic market of the video game industry. Cower and seek solace as the silent horror of age creeps ominously forward, as the Xbox 360 faces the inexorable wrath of its third year of symbiosis. Death calls us all, but none so brutally as technology — sad, forgotten, undesirable, unsellable.

But, nay! The intellect of humanity is not to be undersold, as it can trump all…at least, for a short while. In order to combat such foreboding catastrophe, and to increase the demand for a system already heavily saturating the markets, the powers that be must swiftly slash the cost for each unit, lest it drown in the forgotten depths of obsolescence. It has happened to the Xbox 360 before, and many analysts say that another price cut announcement is imminent.

Dark utterances breathe across the spines of the weary as EEDAR’s
Director of Analytical Services, Jesse Divnich, brings forth speculation of such economic consequence. With Metal Gear Solid 4 emancipated from the hoary clutches of Kojima, the behemoth known as the Playstation 3 has found its way into an ever increasing number of innocent homes.

Divnich proclaims, “if Microsoft does cut the price, Sony will respond with a drop of its own within two months.” Economics 101: price wars benefit consumers. Sounds good to me…
