Companies That Could “Console” You
While Nintendo has been in the business of making video game consoles for years, others console developers have come and gone. Although Sony and Microsoft make-up the other 2/3 of the console market today, there’s no guarantee that future systems will always be made by either of them. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t other companies out there that could, and probably would, make consoles in their stead.

Don't probe me, bro.
Alienware - Now, I’m a casual gamer at best, and barely do any PC gaming, but even I‘ve heard of Alienware. While technically a part of Dell, Alienware is still known for producing PCs made for gaming. While some think Alienware sucks, I find them pretty cool, and I would really like to see what these guys could do if they applied their talents and skills to producing a console. Also, (and I know it’s old news), have you seen their curved monitor? An alien-themed console would be too cool, though I refuse to use any probe-style controllers. That’s a deal breaker.

Proof EA is the devil?
EA - There’s no doubt in my mind that EA would try to monopolize the home console market like they have been attempting to do with the game market. Like a lot of their games, the console would probably be mediocre, overpriced, and crowd the shelves. On the positive side, it would have the best sports games—of course, by then EA would probably make all the sports games.

This apple will keep EVERYBODY away.
Apple - I remember when games for Macs were difficult to find, because Macs weren’t as popular as PCs. Crazy times, huh? Now, I’m not a big fan of Apple, mostly because I can’t stand all the iPhone hype any more than I could stand the obsession with the iPod. Frankly, I think it’s all about as over-hyped as High School Musical 3; I swear I can’t go one day without something reminding me about that [censored] movie. But, unlike High School Musical 3, Apple does offer things I’m actually interested in. Apple making a console, aside from meaning they’ve taken over the world (of electronics), would likely result in some kind of compatibility between the iPod, iPhone, i…game console…thing…and any other iProducts Apple produces between iNow and iEternity. It would also be cool to see Apple ramp up its competition with Microsoft, possibly leading to one of the biggest chapters in the Console War.
NVIDIA - They already manufacture graphics processors and produce many other integral parts and technologies found in and used by PCs, the Wii, the Xbox 360, and the PS3, so they could pretty much build a console if they wanted to. But I can sum up the biggest reason why these guys should make a console with three words: Mad Mod Mike.
Anybody who puts chrome flames on a PC is somebody I’d buy a console from.
