Brave New Strong Badia
In case you didn’t know, everything is funnier with Mexican wrestling masks thrown into the mix. It’s true. If you don’t believe me, take a look at Matt and Mike Chapman. They certainly knew this secret to success when they created the now-insanely popular Homestar Runner universe. Strong Bad, Homestar Runner’s perpetual wearer of this stylish garment, has developed such a fan base that he is now making it big with the release of his upcoming game for Wii and PC, bluntly titled Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People. With a name like that, how could you not want to buy it? Surely this will be an instant classic and even unattractive people will be drawn to it, despite its obvious prejudice.
Unlike Mexican wrestling masks, however, having to wait is never funny, and that’s exactly what we’re going to have to do here. Originally set for a June release, Telltale Games is now telling us that we won’t bear witness to this game’s awesomeness until July. The reasons behind this atrocity at first seem as inconceivable as how quickly Strong Bad can type whilst donning his boxing gloves, but Telltale says it’s simply in an attempt to fine-tune the game.
The only saving grace is that both the PC and Wii will now see the title simultaneously, potentially satiating many a riot which could incur from the overwhelming jealousy of one platform-holder gaining access to this gem before the other.

The release of this game comes a year after the rejection of offers from both Comedy Central and Cartoon Network to turn Homestar Runner into a full-fledged television show. Are the Brothers Chaps “selling out” now that a game is being made for commercial platforms like Wii? Hardly. Their allegiance to Nintendo can come as no surprise considering Strong Bad’s character pays homage to Nintendo’s 8-bit game Tag Team Wrestling. Ultimately, this game is keeping them close to their roots while helping them branch out to a wider audience.
Will this game live up to the Strong Bad legacy? At this point, fans can only speculate and hope for the best. One thing’s for sure, though: attractive people, your style will officially be cramped for another month.
