BlizzCon 2008: WoW Tournament Standings

The Global World of Warcraft Tournament, held in Anaheim California, has come to an end.  Germany’s “Nihilum Plasma” was victorious against America’s “Selective Queuers.”  They won $75,000 and a replica of Frostmourne, which is the runeblade that the Lich King had thrust into the Frozen Throne.

*Eight teams from around the world gathered in the Anaheim Convention Center to battle it out in front of 15,000 spectators, with many more on pay per view watching with their polar bear mount.

Fnatic Orz, #1 ranked seeded 3v3 team online, was knocked down to the consolation bracket after their encounter with Nihilum Plasma in the third round.  They were met by the second American Team, Selective Queuers, whose momentum was too much for the fan favorite as they advanced to the finals.

The grand final was exciting as Selective Quequers initially beat Nihilum Plasma 2-0 very quickly.  However, Nihilum Plama re-strategized and gloriously won the last three games.  Congratulations to all the teams who had the chance to compete in one of the best events of the year!
