This week, Capcom revealed to rabid Street Fighter aficionados a much-anticipated sight for sore eyes in the form of the revamped packaging for Street Fighter IV. To keep a game fun, the designers have to come up with imaginative representations of practical tools. There can be a dozen methods of replenishing your character’s falling health, but what form should that method take? Should it come in the form of an object or an action? Some of the solutions that designers have come up with have been downright bizarre, but in a video game context, we strangely accept them without question! Let’s hope you’re hungry…

Later next week, America celebrates Thanksgiving, a holiday laden with gluttony, family gathering, and lots of drinking. This, as you could imagine, is the favorite holiday for animal rights organization, PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. In their never-ending crusade to enlighten the world toward vegan living, they developed a flash game with eerie resemblance to our favorite culinary matriarch, Cooking Mama. Except in their version, she’s developed a bloodlust for murder!

Playing through a game, a little injected eye candy for the player always helps the experience go much more smoothly. Some video game vixens can give a man the extra fuel needed to carry him through his dreams. It’s all well and good…until you read the game’s manual. One look at the character’s profile and suddenly you’re not so sure of yourself. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) Here are some classic video game trannies that may have fooled you.
