Gamer Culture
While “Top 5” lists are always good for an informative opinion about something or other, today is a day that we look at a “Bottom Five” list, compiling the five worst types of gamers. Assembled here are the crème de le crème of suckitude: five subspecies you should immediately run in fear of and, most importantly, why. Although those featured in today’s “Bottom Five” realistically have little chance of changing who they are, that doesn’t mean I can’t make fun of them. Because making fun of other people is one of the few pleasures left in my own sad, pathetic life. So prepare that flame shield and don’t feed that troll, because tonight, I dine, IN HELL. Gamer hell, that is.

War…war never changes… But Fallout has evolved.
My level of anticipation was almost as high as my level of apprehension when I loaded up Fallout 3 for the first time. I had put down $54.99 to play this on my PC, but that number was dwarfed by the $200 I spent upgrading my video card in order to play this game. But my apprehension ran far deeper than any wallet-related fears: in my numerous Fallout-related articles here at GotGame, I have stressed time and time again that the Fallout universe is one of the most engrossing, mesmerizing, cinematic, energetic, lovable, believable, detailed, makes-you-proud-to-be-a-gamer gaming universes ever created. A decade after the release of Fallout 2, the Fallout 2 cinematic where the ancient oil tanker comes to life still takes my breath away. Without a single doubt in my mind, I truly believe that Fallout 1 and 2 deserve to take their place as two of the most important video games ever created, as well as two of the greatest.

Maricopa County, Arizona. Never heard of it? Me neither. But today they have rightfully earned their place in history. For it is there that, in the midst of a local county supervisor election, Republican incumbent Fulton Brock has launched a smear campaign hilarious in its idiocy. The smear in question, you ask? The challenger, Ed Hermes, plays Halo. So you should not vote for him. Because he is a bad man. The mind boggles.

Movies
Throughout the history of comic book movies, there are a few that have risen to the top. Yet, for the most part, the average comic book movie is…well, pretty average. Most comic book movies nowadays are better than your worst fears, but not as good as your highest hopes.

There’s plenty of reason to look forward to the upcoming Fallout 3. For starters, it’s being handled by a company known for its “Game of the Year” awards, genre-redefining RPG games, and a sheer in-game size and depth that rivals the Grand Theft Auto series. But I’m looking forward to something much more meaningful (at least to me): the return of one of the most interesting, most detailed, most engaging post-apocalyptic gaming universes ever created. While the complete Fallout history would take at least a few days to completely learn, here’s a quick step-by-step of the important rules, regulations, history and quirks of the Fallout universe.

In the realm of online video games, you’ve probably seen a lot of things. But nothing quite takes the crown of “weird **** that makes you do a double-take” quite like the peculiar habit of a man pretending to be a woman. I’m all for bridging the gender gap, but that stuff is just strange. I can think of a few good reasons of doing it, however: namely, gamer guys may give you free stuff. But still, it’s weird.

Lists! Everyone loves lists. And if you don’t, you should. Lists can be informative, helpful, authoritative, and downright hilarious. Either way, they’re a valuable tool to convey lots of information in a quick, easy-to-read way. With PC gaming all the rage nowadays (defying the “PC Gaming is Dead” headline we always seem to get every couple of years), there are all kinds of lists of what you should be playing, how you should be playing it, and how to get better if you suck at it. Rather than focus on one game specifically, here are a few things all PC gamers should and should not have in their immediate vicinity in order to best enjoy their game of choice.

Batman. Spider-Man. Superman. No matter who your favorite is, there’s no denying that these three qualify as the three most well-known comic book characters of all time. Every one of them has seen highs and lows in virtually all forms of media: television, movies, video games, and the industry that originally spawned them, comic books. Looking towards the future, only one of the “Big 3″ has reached the status of top-tier entertainment in the realm of cinema: Batman. “Spider-Man 3″ disappointed, though it was by no means horrible. That same thing, sadly, cannot be said of the abysmally-behind-the-times “Superman Returns.” While Batman looks to continue his domination as King of the comics movie kingdom, there’s still plenty of time for the “Lesser 2″ to firmly reestablish their supremacy. Here’s how all three should approach this battle of awesomeness.
