MMORPGs, PC, World of WarCraft
I know a lot of people had stopped playing World of Warcraft before the expansion came out, and they sometimes wonder how it’s changed. Some have moved to other MMO games and want to know how it compares to the new WoW, while others have reverted back to FPS games and are just wondering if they’re missing anything. Because I hear a lot of the same questions, I’ve compiled a brief WotLK FAQ to quell some of that curiosity.

A Netherlands based company called W-41 has come up with a digital logo that will allow people to scan one another with a camera phone, and it will then direct them to the scanee’s Facebook page.

Gamer Culture
Ever notice how gaming can come in between relationships? Well I say, “Girlfriends, pshaw, who needs them when you’ve got video games to play?” And just to make this more compelling, I am going to be addressing “video games” as “her” so we can really see how close we can be with our games.

Gamer Culture, Nintendo Wii
Out of the myriad characters in Super Smash Bros Brawl, who would you want to spend your college days with? Let’s look closely at the fighters’ lives outside the ring, where instead of smashing and brawling, they’ll be challenged by the everyday things we normal people have to deal with. Each character will be ranked from 1 to 10 in three categories: diligence, cleanliness, and social acceptance. Then the sum of each category will determine their score and help determine their rank as a potential college roommate. (Some scores won’t reflect their potential as well as others, which is why I’ve written a little something for each entry.) There are just too many characters (35 in total) to write up a complete list, but here are the top five and the bottom six.

Just like how a person’s room can tell a lot about them, a PC (or Mac) gamer’s desk can tell even more. I’m going to look at three types of things that a PC gamer should have on his or her desk, and three types of things that are probably already there, but shouldn’t be.

Business, Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, World of WarCraft
Activision has announced that for every copy of Call of Duty: World at War sold at the Washington D.C. GameStop store during the pre-release event today, Veteran’s Day, Activision will donate $10 to the USO. But after CEO Bobby Kotick’s recent comments regarding adding subscription fees to Guitar Hero, Activision’s donation to the USO seems more like an apology than sheer altruism.
